Need to grab part of your screen quickly? Press Windows key + Shift + S and the Snipping Tool overlay appears. Choose from rectangular, freeform, window, or full-screen snips, then click and drag to capture exactly what you need.

Once you take a snip, it is instantly copied to your clipboard and ready to paste into an email, document, or chat. If you click the pop-up that appears, you can open the Snipping Tool editor to highlight, draw, or add notes before saving.

This shortcut is perfect for sharing visuals with teammates, saving part of a webpage, or documenting an error message without taking a full screenshot. It is fast, built into Windows, and works across multiple monitors.
