No one plans for “Wi-Fi rage,” but it drains time and money quickly. Frozen Zoom calls, slow uploads, and walking around for a better signal all add up.

If one person loses 30 minutes a day to Wi-Fi issues, multiply that by your whole team. That is time you are paying for with nothing to show for it.

Here is where to start:

  • Check your router’s location. It should be off the floor, away from walls, and placed somewhere central.
  • Look at the age. If your router is from before 2020 or does not support Wi-Fi 6, it is probably holding you back.
  • Count connected devices. Phones, printers, smart TVs, and even old backup PCs can all slow things down. Unplug anything not essential.
  • Split the network. Many routers support 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Use 5GHz for work devices like laptops and video calls. Put other devices on 2.4GHz to reduce interference.
  • Run a speed test. Do it from the farthest point in the office. If speeds drop by more than half compared to a test near the router, your coverage needs help.

You may not need a faster internet plan. You may just need better coverage, which can be fixed with a Wi-Fi extender or additional access points.
